Eligibility for Services at Campus Health and CAPS after Graduation

Graduating students currently eligible for services will only be able to use UNC Health Campus Care at Carolina and Counseling and Psychological Services for 30 days after the original academic calendar graduation on December 13, 2026.  This means December 2026 graduates are eligible for services through January 12th, including both onsite visits and telehealth services.

During this transition period your Campus Care clinician and CAPS therapist will be happy to work with you to explore possible provider options in the local community.

Exploring Next Steps with Your Provider

Students can contact Campus Care clinicians using My UNC Chart or make an appointment. There are multiple ways to schedule an appointment at UNC Health Campus Care at Carolina.  You can schedule an appointment online, call to schedule an appointment (919) 966-2281, or use the Hello Heels app under Essential Resources, Health and Wellness.

CAPS patients can use the secure web portal healthyheels.unc.edu to access visit information and contact providers.

Sharing Health Records

A copy of your medical record can be sent to your new provider of care by completing a Release of Information form based on the location and dates of service:

If you will be receiving care at another UNC Health practice, a Release of Information form is not required for Campus Care records dated August 1, 2026 or later, as those records can be accessed within the UNC Health system.

If you are enrolled in the UNC System Student Health Insurance Plan for the Fall 2026 semester your insurance plan will terminate December 31, 2026.  Any charges incurred from January 1st – 12th will be your responsibility unless you present active insurance coverage.  Learn more about insurance options when no longer in school.

Patience requested: Online appointment scheduling

Campus Care is aware of extended load times to access online appointment scheduling.

Most users can still access My UNC Chart through single sign on, but the pages may take a few minutes to load. Users can also try using an incognito window or clearing their cache and browser history.

Technology staff are working on the issue, and your patience is appreciated.
